Fun times in the month of May

Hey hey, Wolf Girl here! I’ve had a cool month, busy as, but so much fun.

At the centre, I’ve done mindfulness colouring, reading, and practicing my moves for the iSing & iDance show. It’s been a cold month so chilling in the sensory room watching movies like The Greatest Showman, playing heaps of games has been really nice.

I have headed to Greerton Hall for Bay Active, did grocery & op shopping, Acts of service at Greerton Library and the 15th Ave op shop.  We made the most of the sunshine at Fraser Cove and Morland Fox Park. I also popped into Fraser Manor rest home to play games with the residents. We also teamed up with Coast Care to plant native spinifex in the sand dunes at the Mount beach. I even went for a peaceful bush walk at I'Anson Reserve, Te Puna using binoculars to spot local birds, bugs & fungi.

To wrap it all up, we got stuck into some projects. I picked out some top-notch photos to print off, learnt how to grow mushrooms, bagged up kowhai seeds to raise funds for our centre & I also rolled up my sleeves to give the centre van a good scrub.

I enjoyed a sausage sizzle at Yatton Park, watched the gee-gees at the Tauranga Racecourse, & grabbed a lovely lunch at the Citz Club with the Connect 20 crew.

It’s been such a choice month, and I can't wait for the next one!

kowhai Seeds

My friends and I counted out 50 Kowhai seeds to put in a bag and label, all ready to be sold.

Volunteering

I am an awesome help volunteering at the SPCA Op shop. This week i restacked the books nicely onto the book shelves & sorted the childrens clothing back into their correct boxes.

 

Johnson reserve bush & waterfall walk

 Angus from the Tauranga City council took us through a bush walk at the end of Johnson reserve. We have never walked that track before & ended up at a beautiful waterfall & learning about different native trees. 

My Personal book

 I enjoy adding things that I like to my personal book. This week I happily coloured in an Alpaca with bright colours, cut it out & glued it onto purple paper to put into my personal book.

Eco sourcing - Kowhai seeds

 I helped to eco souce Kowhai seeds from 2 massive trees in Bethlehem. I found heaps of yellow loose seeds on the ground that I picked up and then also got the brown seed pods off of the tree. I'm looking forward to growing my own kowhai tree!

Discovery Group

  I worked really hard helping Angus from Tauranga City Council in our community at Johnsons reserve with my Discovery Group. I also repotted our herb plants at Wilrose garden to go into planter boxes.

Happy Birthday to ME

 I enjoyed a yummy chocolate cake and a card made by my friends filled with pictures of things that I like. I liked my purple candle! We spent that afternoon singing and dancing in I Sing.

Carmichael Reserve

I enjoyed being out in the sunshine while looking at the birds at Carmichael reserve.

 

Quirks Cafe

 I had a lovely morning out socialising with friends at the Greerton Quirks cafe. My friend Grace served us & we then had a look at their art & photography display.

Photography & Self Expression

I picked where i wanted to hang my framed photos on our Wilrose photography wall. I like using the hammer to hammer the nail into the wall. When we printed our photos out at the warehouse i found a cute easter bunny that I liked. 

Just wana have fun - Greerton Library

 I liked going to the Greerton Library & being involved in Just wana have fun social group. We celebrated Luna new year & drew pictures of things that we liked.
